1. Origins of Disney

In 1923, Walt Disney signed a contract with M.J. Winkler to produce a series of Alice Comedies, beginning the Disney company under its original name Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, with brothers Walt and Roy Disney, as equal partners. 3 years later, Company changed name to The Walt Disney Studio shortly after moving into the new studio on Hyperion Avenue in the Silver Lake district. In 1938, Walt Disney Enterprises, Disney Film Recording Company, and Liled Realty and Investment Company are merged into Walt Disney Productions.

Industry: Media and entertainment

Net profit for the year ending december 2007 was 3.832 Billion dollars.

Universal studios – Similar business, with amusements parks located in same places.

Bush Gardens – Huge amusement park in America that has a lot of customers.

8. Disney and Pixar

Disney needs Pixar for several reasons. Firstly, Pixar offers Disney an alternative to cartoon and this way appeals to the adult audience. Additionally, animation at Pixar allows new technology to be used and therefore allows for newer, more intuitive technology to be created. Animations that Pixar offers to Disney creates a more realistic look which the audience can relate to more than normal cartoons yet still maintain the fantasy effect which their films portray.
