Production Log: Initial Entry

Firstly, I have chosen to take the Print path of the foundation portfolio. I chose this path because i felt i would develop more skills overall through taking this path. In addition, i enjoy working with photographs as well as working with image-manipulation programs.

Initially, i felt the Video pathway would be a more exciting option to take however i would learn more, 
(media study wise) taking the print route. 

My current SMART targets for my preliminary task are as follows:

S: To Complete research specific to my creative idea.
M: Presentation to peers detailing idea.
A: Positive feedback.
R: Resources Present. E.g, computers etc.
T: 2 weeks for research.

S: To receive training in specialist software (Photoshop).
M: When comfortable to use Software un-aided.  
A: Basic use of software.
R: Resources Present. E,g, Staff, computers etc.
T: 1-2 weeks for basic knowledge of software.

S: To draw up several drafted pictures and layout drafts.
M: When satisfied with layout of magazine and pictures. 
A: Make sure not to draft something impossible to create.
R: Minimal skills needed to draft pictures and layout.
T: 1 week per draft. Time for trial and improvement.

S: To organise a photo-shoot in order to obtain a cover picture for my magazine.
M: When a good selection of photographs is attained.
A: Easy. Good camera knowledge and model contacts.
R: Set obtained, date un-known.
T: 1 day for initial photo’s.
